"Sports" Liverpool Sign Xherdan Shaqiri From Stoke City

Liverpool has signed Swiss striker Xherdan Shaqiri of Stoke City after receiving his £ 13.5 million clearance clause.

The 26-year-old moved from Inter Milan to the Potters in August 2015, earning a club record fee of £ 12 million.

He was Stoke's top scorer last season with eight goals when they were relegated from the Premier League.

Shaqiri met Serbia at the World Cup when Switzerland reached the round of 16 and lost to Sweden.

In June he is said to have said that he wants to leave Stoke and sign for a Premier League club.

Liverpool have strengthened their squad earlier this summer with Monaco midfielder Fabinho's £ 39m bet and Naby Keita's arrival from RB Leipzig.
